Ways to Tell if Your Partner Really Loves You

There’s an old saying that actions speak louder than words. In my job as an astrologer and psychic advisor, I often get asked about relationships. Yes, the potential for good romance can be seen in the tarot cards or the star charts, but the way you’re treated by your significant other will reveal more than any oracle when you’re seeking ways to tell if your partner really loves you.

First, are you being treated with compassion? Love doesn’t try to control or manipulate or bully. Love will take the time to be kind. It really is as simple as that. If there are any headgames, if there’s anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, then it may be time to reevaluate the relationship you think you have.

Then there’s patience. Does your partner work with you, letting you find your way forward, or are you always worried that there’s going to be an issue if you don’t do something immediately. True love is patient, and will put your happiness first. That’s one of the ways that solid relationships grow and move forward. If both parties are putting their partner’s happiness in front of their own, then both parties are working to make each other happy, and it cannot help but have an ongoing positive effect.

Similar to patience is tolerance. You guys don’t have to agree on everything–I’d be worried about the health of your relationship if you did! But when you do disagree, when you have a belief system that is not in harmony with your partners, watch to see whether they accept this and agree to differ, or whether they are always trying to get you to conform. Some people will even mock or bully those who do not agree with them. If this is happening in your relationship, then it can be a sign that maybe things aren’t quite as stable as they should be.

Then there’s forgiveness. Remember that forgiveness is not about pretending that whatever happened to cause the distance between you is okay, that it doesn’t matter. Forgiveness is about not letting it control you. Forgiving someone doesn’t mean that what they did was okay. It means that you’re willing to work through it, to reach a solution, and to move forward. If your partner is constantly holding grudges, bringing up the past, and not letting it rest, if they are intent on not rationally discussing things but would rather hang onto their anger–and ego–then you may have a problem.

Compromise is also a good sign when looking at how to tell if your partner really loves you. If you’re always having to do what your other half wants, rather than it being give and take, then this is control, not affection. True love will try to find the middle ground, and yield often so that both parties can have what they desire. Any successful relationship is full of give and take. It all goes back to the happiness; true love wants you to be happy, and will make concessions in order to insure that happens. If there’s sulking and whining when your partner doesn’t always get their own way, then there may be an underlying issue.

These are just some of the ways to tell if your partner really loves you. There are many more, and of course, the compatibility between the two of you (which can be examined in an astrology synastry reading) will have a lot of influence on the success of the relationship, too. Just remember, though, it’s not all about the way that your partner treats you. In order to show you really love your partner, you also need to let your actions speak louder than your words.

  • I love this article. You touch on some very important issues, that many people seem to overlook. I too have stayed in unhealthy situations, hoping that things will change, but as I am getting older, i recognize the importance of respect and selfworth in a relationship. Now if I could just find someone who feels the same way ☺ the search goes on!

  • Good luck on your quest—and if you’d like me to look at your chart to see when the timing might be right, just email me through my website, yeah? Of course, the where and the when and the who aren’t as important as the HOW, but you knew that, didn’t you? 😉

  • Wow, I just opened my eyes and read this and it made me totally do a 160. Your very right about love and i have been really blind. Thank you.
