Teca, life is not that simple. Life is a roller coaster with ups and downs. "Happy ending, or not?" There's no such thing. What about rehab AND divorce? I know you think I'm teasing you, but that is where I see your marriage is headed.

Do you know the meaning of codependent? (It took me 20 years to really learn the definition.) Do you understand enabling? Do you recognize YOUR part in his addiction?

Once his recovery begins, there will be nothing more important to him. And, if you don't change also, then he will have to leave you to maintain his sobriety.

Rhonda's dose of reality: You cannot control his addiction. "You didn't cause it, and you can't cure it." You have to recognize your own addictive behaviors (enabling) and change them.

Get your butt to a codependent meeting ASAP, and start working and working on you. That is the only thing you really CAN change, and that is the only way you will find happiness. You have to detach from him, and then you will have a happy ending.
