May begins absolutely grand, literally. On May 1 there will be a grand trine between Venus, Saturn, and Pluto. A grand trine is the most positive aspect in astrology, and this grand trine should bring a general feeling of well being in love and financial matters. Things could get a little rough on Friday and Saturday, May 2 and 3, with Mercury and Saturn fighting with one another while making their own changes. There could be problems with authority figures, and verbal abuse could be out of control. Abuse starts in our minds, so if we don’t beat ourselves up in our thoughts, then we are much less likely to abuse others. Catch those thoughts quickly and don’t let them take control. By Sunday, May 4, all will be forgotten and forgiven, and we will be entering a more calm and peaceful period.

The first half of the week of May 5th should be relatively uneventful, but we may be dealing with some issues on Thursday and Friday (May 8 and 9), especially those of us with dominate fire in our charts. Jupiter (the ruler of Sagittarius) will be turning retrograde, and Mars (the ruler of Aries) will be crossing into Leo. We may find ourselves dealing with family or possibly financial issues at that time.

Mothers’ Day weekend looks nice, all the way through Monday, so take some time to celebrate motherhood. The Sun will be joining the Jupiter and Uranus harmony bringing optimism and new ideas, but Neptune will show up late and sing off pitch. What this means is, the weekend should be great, but things may get rougher as we begin the new week. Saturday through Monday (May 10 - 12), we may find we come to a new understanding of life, and we will be ready to party. Beginning Monday, and getting stronger on Tuesday and Wednesday, confusion and addiction may rear it’s ugly head. There could be a few misunderstandings, so postpone any major decisions until the end of the week.

Venus will move in and replace the Sun in the Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune harmony for the weekend of May 17, and the Scorpio Full Moon will be on Monday (May 19), so lots of us will be ready to party again. Weekend parties should go well, but we may become excessive on Monday and Tuesday. There could be a lot of flirting and cheating going on, or we may go on a spending spree all the way through Wednesday. There could also be problems with authority figures, or we may find our energy is low Tuesday through Friday (May 20 -23) with the Sun picking a fight with Saturn.

And, were not done yet… Hang on, Memorial Day weekend (May 24 - 26) could bring some disappointments. Venus will be crossing into Gemini on Saturday, and we may be trying to push our loved ones around. Mercury and Neptune will be at retrograde station on Monday, but we will be feeling their effects from Sunday through Tuesday. You all know what Mercury Retrograde means (communication, transportation, travel, and mental problems), and Neptune will be in the bathroom taking a dump too. Neptune’s going to bring out the addict and the fool! I’m staying home this Memorial Day, and I’ll watch the Indy 500 on TV. Use extra extra caution traveling this weekend.

The rest of the week, and the rest of the month, will be quiet and uneventful, and June should begin on a very sweet note. There may be some problems around the Full Moon in June when Mercury turns direct, so check back next month for more details.

April may feel like a roller coaster. We have some absolutely fabulous aspects and some absolutely awful aspects coming this month, so get ready for a stimulating ride.

Be gentle with the April Fool’s jokes this year. Mercury and Pluto will be making some changes for the first 3 days of this month, and they will be fighting with each other in the process. There could be fights, jealousy, and just plan deep feelings of fear and doubt coming up. And then, for the weekend of April 5th, Venus will enter Aries and upset Pluto again. There could be relationship problems. Venus also rules money, and Pluto governs the criminal. There could be thefts, muggings, and extra embezzling going on through April 6th.

We will begin to feel the effects of the Sun and Jupiter arguing by Tuesday, April 8th, and by Wednesday Mercury and Mars will begin their own battle. We could be dealing with some personal problems, and we may not be looking at them very objectively. People will be touchy, and misunderstandings will abound through Thursday April 10th.

By Friday, April 11th, we will be over the first 3 killer humps of our roller coaster, and we will be ready to coast for a few days. The Sun, and then Mercury will be shaking hands with Neptune for the weekend. Intuitions will be very strong, and it will be a great time for a psychic reading. It could be a very spiritual weekend, and we may want to take some time for meditation and prayer. Creative projects will also go well all the way through Monday, April 14th.

By Tuesday, April 15th we should begin to feel more alert with the Sun and Mercury coming together. They will then join the Saturn and Pluto trine already in progress on Friday. And, these fellows are going to create one of the most positive aspects in astrology, a grand trine, for the weekend and the beginning of Passover. It will be an excellent weekend for short trips, and for any kind of dealings with authority figures. We will be able to accomplish just about anything we want to do this weekend, and we may solve a few mysteries (or catch a loved one in a lie) all the way through Monday, April 21st.

As the grand trine is winding down, by Sunday, April 20th, we will begin feeling the effects of another triangle between Jupiter, Mars, and Uranus. This could energize us to try to things, but we may find our energy is moving in spurts. There will also be a tendency to go to extremes, and we may get carried away.

Then, by Monday, April 21st, Mars and Venus will begin an argument that Jupiter will join on Tuesday. Here comes the 4th hump of our roller coaster, and it is the monster! Venus, Jupiter, and Mars will form a T-square, and that means fights, and more fights through Thursday, April 24th. It will definitely not be a good time for any kind of investing or gambling, and there is a strong potential for money losses. There could be relationship problems, especially sexual, but I doubt there will be many breakups, just nasty arguments.

We will be over the hump by Orthodox Good Friday, April 25th, and then we will be traveling through the fantasy section of the ride. Venus and Neptune will be shaking hands, and courtesy will return. People will be polite, and we will find that our minds are thinking at a much higher level. We will be ready to put some new ideas into action, but there may also be a tendency to ignore reality all the way through Tuesday, April 29th. Be sure your ideas are grounded.

The month will end with Venus connecting with Pluto and Saturn to form a grand trine, just like the Sun and Mercury did two weeks earlier. Here comes the grand finale of the ride, and its going to be sweet. We will leave April and enter May with relationships, beauty, happiness, and money all doing well. It will be a great time for business and for love, and we will be ready to enjoy the fruits of our labors. Most of us will have a general feeling of well being and contentment.

Pluto is the planet of extremes and powerful transformations, and Saturn is the planet of organization, discipline, ambition, and hard work. The last time this aspect occurred was 1996 - 1997. During that time Bill Clinton won his second term as president, the unibomber was arrested and convicted, O.J. was found liable in his civil suit, and the Heaven’s Gate cult committed mass suicide. It looks as though people were standing by their convictions rather strongly at that time, even some chose to die for them.

When these two planets work together it can deepen concentration and increase our ambitions. Self-confidence will increase, and hopefully our principles will too. Saturn and Pluto are slow outer planets, so aspects between them will affect us more on a community level rather than on a personal. We may see corporate or even governmental changes during this time.

When the trine occurred back in 1996, they were both in fire signs, Pluto in Sagittarius, and Saturn in Aries. Pluto is still in Sagittarius, but Saturn has moved all the way to Leo. They are both in fire signs again, but Leo is a fixed sign and Sagittarius is mutable. We don’t have any cardinal signs to initiate change, so we may find that this time will not be as dynamic as 10 years ago. We may decide this time to hold fast to what we know, and use this energy to strengthen our beliefs. But, we still have to be on guard for fanaticism. Its really not worth dying for.

We are on the third and last phase of this aspect. The previous two times occurred during the winter of 2006 and the summer of 2007. Saturn and Pluto will not be trine (120 degrees apart) again until 2030. This phase will probably be the most powerful of the three because Mercury, the Sun, and then Venus will be joining the harmony to create a grand trine in late April and early May.

From March 23 through mid April the effects of Saturn and Pluto will probably be felt at a more subconscious level. We may find that our willpower is stronger, but we should notice that our governments are moving to action. Pluto brings up secrets, and Saturn is the universe’s policeman. So, these two may bring some corruption to light for our politicians (and that includes those corporate politicians) to deal with.

Around April 18, Mercury will join the triangle, and this could bring some extra energy and some extra ideas to our lives. We will probably be ready to initiate new projects, and short vacations will be grand for the next few days. The Sun will add his tenor to the chord on April 19 and things should be quite grand through Monday, April 21. It would be an excellent weekend for travel, and for projects. Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus will be adding a second melody at the same time, so just about anything we attempt will succeed.

Mars, Venus, and Jupiter will be coming to a T-square just a couple of days after the grand trine, so things may go downhill the week after your fabulous weekend. But, Venus will step up to reconnect the triangle on April 30 and the melody will continue through Friday, May 2. This could bring a new seriousness to our relationships, and we will be ready to beautify our surroundings. Venus also rules money, so it will be an excellent time for investing and gambling.

The trine will continue through May 30, but it will never come to an exact peak degree, because Saturn is presently retrograde, and he will turn direct on May 2 before he comes to the exact degree of the trine. So, we should not notice nearly as many of the effects of the Saturn-Pluto trine after May 2.

Saturn will in retrograde be from 3 to 2 degrees Virgo, and Pluto will hold pretty steady at 1 degree Capricorn (because it will be turning retrograde early in April). Check your natal chart. If you have any planets between 0 and 5 degrees in Sagittarius, Pisces, or Gemini, this aspect may be more difficult for you. Which natal planet in your chart being affected will determine what aspect of your life it will upset. Also, check your houses to see what areas will be affected.
